Getting Started.

  • Open a free checking account at Gateway Community FCU. Our routing number is 292177864

  • Begin using your Gateway Community FCU checks and debit/ATM card

  • Gateway Community FCU will "buy" back your old checks and debit/ATM card for $25

Things To Remember.

  • Shred or destroy your old checks, ATM/debit card etc. from your old account

  • Let outstanding checks and automatic withdrawals clear your account before closing it; this could take several weeks

Move Transactions.

  • Inform your employer to change your direct deposit. They may need a voided check and/or a deposit slip from your new account.

  • Contact anyone who makes a deposit to your accounts. This could be retirement, pension, social security or other funds. They may require their own form, or you can use ours.

  • Inform anyone who makes withdrawals from your accounts that you have switched. If they require a form, you may use ours.

Finally, Close Your Old Account.
