Gateway Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the financial needs of our members. While other financial institutions place profit first, we recognize that friendly service and reliable management of your money are what you're looking for.
The Gateway Credit Union is a full-service financial institution offering a wide variety of financial products and services, including savings products, consumer and real estate loans, as well as financial delivery products like Debit and ATM cards, VISA credit cards, checking accounts and more.
The Credit Union was started in 1968 by the International Paper Workers Union Local #885. Over the years, several companies in and around Missoula have asked and were approved to join the Credit Union. These included members of the Blackfoot Telephone Co-operative and the Missoula Electric Co-operative. In 1995, we were granted a community charter of the Missoula Community, allowing Gateway to offer credit union services to virtually everyone in the Missoula area.
We pride ourselves not only on the number of products and services we offer, but also in the high level of service we provide to our members. The Credit Union is federally chartered and all deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration. This agency, which also serves as our regulator, audits the credit union annually, along with an outside audit firm retained by the Credit Union's Supervisory Audit Committee.
Bauer Financial consistently gives Gateway Community a 5-Star rating for safety and soundness. Bauer Financial is an independent national rating service who has been rating banks and Credit Unions since 1983.
