Security Is Our Priority
Keeping our members' personal information safe, both in our buildings and on the internet, is Gateway Community's top priority. That is why we have installed top of the line security programs and safeguards to make sure that your personal information stays safe. Whether you check your accounts using our online banking system, the PAL (Personal Access Line), call us directly, or come into one of our branches, you can rest assured that we have the security in place to make sure that you are the only one who has access to your account.
Be Alert Online
The internet offers the potential for safe, convenient new ways to shop for financial services and conduct banking business, any time of the day. However, safe banking online involves awareness and user caution. Identity thieves are becoming more fierce and deceptive. They may call you at home, send you emails or links to fake websites in order to acquire your personal and financial information. We at Gateway would like to give you some tips for safe online banking:
-
Never give out personal financial information in response to an unsolicited phone call, fax, or email;
-
If you receive an email that warns you with little or no notice that an account of yours will be shut down unless you re-confirm your billing information, do not reply or click on the link in the email. Statements you have received in the mail should have a customer service number you can call;
-
Always go directly to www.gatewaycommunityfcu.com to log in to your Online Bank accounts or Bill Pay. Be sure to always use the log out button when you are done using the site;
-
Passwords or personal identification numbers (PINs) should be used when accessing an account online. Your password should be unique to you and you should change it regularly;
-
Review credit card and bank account statements regularly to determine whether there are any unauthorized charges. If your statement is late by more than a couple of days, call your credit card company or Credit Union to confirm your billing address and account balances.
IMPORTANT:
We do not send emails to customers requesting personal information or account numbers. If you receive such an email, do not reply to it; it is a fraudulent attempt to get your private information. Please contact the Credit Union immediately if you receive such an email or if you have any questions. The phone number is (406) 728-4475, and a representative will be glad to help you.
